As members of the West Fork High School Gator Band, we live by the following five rules to ensure the best band experience for every student in our program:
Be Kind You never know what is going on with someone, but compassion can go a long way.
Build Relationships We are a family!
Communication is key to being successful in life.
Time is a commodity. Time is precious and we work hard to make the most of eery minute we have together to guarantee no time is wasted for our students or parents.
Have Fun!! You will remember these years for the rest of your life!
Our Ensembles
Marching Band
All band and color guard members participate in the marching band. We go to all Football games, contests, Christmas Parade, etc. We are the face of the school!
Wind Ensemble
This ensemble is made up of the most advanced musicians in the band and is considered the varsity ensemble. This group competes in all competitions and events (Region Band, Chamber Night, Solo Contest, UIL, etc.)
Symphonic Band
This ensemble is the non-varsity band at West Fork. This group also competes in all competitions and events like the Wind Ensemble.
Concert Band
This ensemble is the sub non-varsity band at West Fork. This group will compete in several events as they are able.
Beginning Band
This class is for students new to band and playing their instrument. Instruction focuses on music and instrument-specific fundamentals.
Percussion
This class is only for percussion students. The drum line and Front Ensemble will rehearse together in this class, under the direction of Mr. Turnley.
Color Guard
This class is only for Guard students. Color Guard will be during the Fall semester as part of the marching band, and Winter Guard will be during the Spring semester.
Applied Music
This is a supplemental class designed to provide students with an additional period for focused individual or small-group practice. This course supports musical growth by offering extra time for skill development, sectional work, and personalized instruction outside of the full ensemble setting.
